Process and Performance evaluation for three years panel study

  


The overall evaluation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KESP program,

intends to capture the changes resulting from project interventions at

different points, and to assess the effectiveness of strategies and

interventions to achieve outputs and outcomes. The project was

multi-intervention ranging from infrastructure, teacher capacity, supervision,   teacher’s induction, classroom practices etc.

Technical Backstopping to Provincial Institute of Teacher Education (PITE)- Baluchistan for Continuous Professional Development of Teachers in Balochistan Supported by UNICEF and European Union

The consultant was responsible for developing and designing monitoring and evaluation framework for the capacity development of more than 1200 teachers across 12 districts of province. The use of multiple data sources for the process monitoring and end term evaluation was carried out in the project.

Assessment of practices to promote girls education

The purpose of the study is to analyse selected models being used in Sindh that have proved successful in bringing and retaining girls in primary schools.

Especially the study identifies and documents such best practices which could

be replicated/upscaled, based on which guidelines will be developed.

Mid-Project KAP WASH survey in District Badin, Thatta and Rajanpur

A combination of quantitative and qualitative tools namely; household survey, village observation, key informant interviews and community FGDs were employed in order to undertake the task. To compare the mid-KAP results with Pre-KAP with each other the tools were kept the same as the tools used in the previous study with only an addition of some themes on project execution, challenges, issues and any concerns from both the project side and the beneficiary side. In the field, data were collected from 859 households and 141 villages of the 3 target districts (locations same as Pre-Project study). The survey was conducted via digital devices (tablets) through KOBO collect software.

Market Evaluation and Evaluation on Communities' Willingness to Pay for WASH Services

The methodology included desk review, household survey, KII, FGD, Market Survey, and workshop. 2 teams of enumerators were hired, 1 for market survey and other for HH survey, while lead consultants collected other qualitative data. The questionnaire survey was implemented using the “Contingent Valuation Method” (CVM). The survey was conducted in eight urban UCs of Jacobabad city (sample of 414 households). The data was collected on digital devices (tablets) through KOBO collect software. The qualitative data was analyzed through MS Excel and quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS.

End of term Evaluation report titled: My Teacher is My Role Model

The evaluation was carried out through desk review, group meeting, learning outcome survey, teachers’ survey, parents’ survey, FGD, and KII. The learning outcome survey was based on 4 to 6 subjects and was conducted in both intervention and non-intervention schools; in total 361 students were assessed in PanoAqil Tehsil of Sukkur District. The data was collected using digital recorders and paper pencil technique. The qualitative data was analyzed through MS Excel and quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS.

End of project report titled:

Hepatitis-B prophylaxis and capacity building project in Pakistan (2006 to 2013)

The study was conducted in the intervention areas i.e. Khairpur and Sukkur. Throughout the project life, OMV had gathered a wealth of data due to systematic record keeping. This data not only reflected on the quantitative accomplishments of the project but also provides some important insight in relation to the prevalence of Hepatitis-Bin the target areas disaggregated by gender, age, marital status, etc. The data also showed the patterns of vaccination under the project from Dose 1 to Dose 3. This data was analysed to determine the effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of the project.

End-Term Evaluation for the project titled: Corporal Punishment Redressal System Project in 54 PEF Managed School of District Rajanpur (Assigned to Company’s

CEO as Individual Consultant

A mixed method approach was used to undertake external evaluation and multiple techniques were used to gather the information. This includes School visits, Document analysis, In-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and conducting Focus Group Discussions at the school and community levels. Before the fieldwork, a list of randomly selected schools was sent to the representative of Plan Pakistan in Rajanpur, so that schools could accommodate our tasks. Six schools (which is more than 10% of the total number of schools) were targeted to be taken as a sample. However, during the field, seven schools were covered. While selecting the schools, factors like location, type of schools and level of schools were considered.

End of term Evaluation for the project titled “Reconstruction and rehabilitation of Schools in Kashmore, Sindh” (Assigned to Company’s CEO as Individual Consultant)


For this purpose, 50% of school sites (18 out of 36 intervention schools) were planned to visit as a study sample. During the visits, a comprehensive data collection exercise was made to seek the perceptions of the stakeholders in the school vicinity. Stakeholders like headmasters, teachers, Parents, Religious leaders and SMC members were approached and discussions were made to discern their perception of education in general and in their respective villages. The methodology includes site visits, document analysis, individual meetings with key stakeholders, and group discussions at the community level. In order to obtain data in the field, a matrix was built indicating Evaluation goals and their corresponding indicators, source of information and instruments. As a second step based on the matrix, data collection tools were developed.
